You will see that the blood in dog stool is caused by the blood vessels in our dogs rupturing. This is one of the common things that can happen to us as we get older. The body has various ways to deal with the blood vessels and so it gets the blood only when they are healthy. And one of the ways is to make some more so that there will be enough for them to work with.

The blood in dog stool – that is not coming from any wounds will have other cause such as urinary tract infection, stones and other kidney problems. The blood will be a greenish-yellow colour and sometimes it will even be bright red. It will also be mixing a lot with his urine.

This is seen as the dog losing his appetite and it is also accompanied with pain – To help you solve this problem, make the dog eat small bits of food before you put him on a waiting tray or litter box. This way, the stool will be small and it will make it easier to take out the blood.

If you have other dogs in your home – then you must take care that they don’t have the same problem. They will normally bleed due to some kind of injury or a wound that was inflicted by another dog. Sometimes it happens due to fight or another dog’s aggression. When you see blood on your dog’s stool, make sure that you bring him to the vet immediately. Don’t wait for further bleeding to happen because it might get worse and you might lose your pet.

You must try to calm your dogs down and get him back to his normal condition – Don’t use any medicines because if the blood is red, it will indicate that there is a deep wound. Some dogs heal faster than others and the color of their stool might not be an indicator of whether they have died or are just scared.

If the blood is dark red or bluish-black – then your dog probably has died. Some dogs may have bluish-black blood due to internal bleeding. If the blood in your dog’s stool is dark red or bluish-black and you notice blood in your dog’s urine, then he probably suffered an injury or an infection.

This type of blood in your dog’s urine can indicate cancer, parasites or a serious internal wound.
